Stainton Quarry Limited is within the Tyne Tees Demotlition Group of Companies. Recently re-opened the stone at Stainton has been quarried since 1600.
We have continued this traditional skill and knowledge with modern equipment and management to provide a quality product to our many customers.
Stainton Quarry has good reserves of stone. It is extracted from a 10.5m face below about 3.6m of overburden. Stone is generally supplied at depths of 1.2 - 1.5m on bed. Stainton sandstone is from the Coal Measures of Carboniferous Age. It is a fine-grained stone, buff in colour with a fine brown / grey (light and dark) / graphite speckle.
